January 2016 Pearlington (Swamp Eagles) pistol match results

January 17, 2016 Leave a comment

The start of the new year brought another great match for the Swamp Eagles. It was a tad cool at match time, but it eventually warmed up and so did the shooting. We had 44 shooters today, which is a decent turnout for us. Not great, but certainly not shabby.

Bob and his crack stage design team crafted 5 stages plus a classifier that seems to be fair but reasonably challenging at the same time. When all the shooting was done, it wasn’t very close for the Overall match title. First Overall and first in Open went to  Read more…

January 2016 Poplarville pistol match results

Dawson PrecisionThe first match of the new year is in the books and it went down well. It was chilly all day, with the wind being the biggest problem. But everyone seemed to have a good time. We were done by Noon, and all the props were picked up in near real time.

The stages were quick but challenging today. The total head count for the match was 26, which isn’t too bad for our club. It’s above average, and for such a blustery day, it was real good.

The results today speak volumes. The winner practically lapped the field. He won the match by more than 10%, or 63 match points. Congratulations today go to  Read more…

And, finally, Practiscore is showing the results from the Sunday match. So you can now click the Kindle Fire  below for the details. Thanks for everyone’s patience.

The scores have been posted on this web site, as they are still not appearing on Practiscore. I just have the overall results now. For the scores, click here.

The match came off without a hitch today, although all week the rain threatened to wash us out again. There were fourteen shooters today and that made for two squads. The stages were especially challenging, and it seemed like everyone was being affected. Although the match winner today tried desperately to let someone else win with a horrible stage 3 score, he still barely squeaked by with the win. Congratulations to survivor  Read more…

The hill road is in great shape so the match is definitely on for Sunday!

As of Saturday morning, the Practiscore web site is experiencing issues and can’t be used to register. If you haven’t yet registered, just send me an email letting me know you are coming. All I need is your name and the division you will shoot, either Scoped Tactical or Open.

Also, I will be checking out the road this afternoon in case it is a problem. But for now, the match is still on.

The South Mississippi Practical Shooting Association will host the monthly 3-Gun match this Sunday (January 3, 2016) at the range in Poplarville. The match will begin at 9 AM. For details about our 3-gun match, click here.

Online registration is available by clicking here or click the giant button below.. Please sign up if you plan on attending.

December 2015 Pearlington (Swamp Eagles) pistol match results

December 20, 2015 Leave a comment

The cancellation of the EAPS resulted in more shooters than normal. Final registration showed 61 shooters. The weather was nice, a bit cool at the start. There were 4 monster stages and one traditional classifier. With the monster stages all being 36+ rounds, several Production shooters decided they wanted to load the mags up and switched to Limited for the day. This allowed more rounds per mag and fewer reloads, but a Minor scoring factor. Still, it was worth it. Most stages were 6 round revolver friendly, so it didn’t break down very well for 10 round mags.

When the final tally was made, there was one shooter who outclassed everyone else. The first place overall and Open winner was Read more…
