January 2020 Biloxi USPSA pistol match – *CANCELLED*
January 2020 Biloxi USPSA pistol match – *WEATHER UPDATE*
It looks like rain for tomorrow, but we are going to wait until the morning to make a final decision. Everyone registered in Practiscore will receive an email no later than 6 AM with either:
Yes, we are shooting
or
No, we cancelled.
If you are traveling from a long ways away, please wait for the email. If we get to shoot, then you can leave then and we will guarantee you will get to shoot when you arrive.
If it still looks like rain, we will cancel, because shooting 5 classifiers in sloppy conditions is not fair to you. However, the weatherman is occasionally wrong, so we are holding out hope the rain misses us.
So, you will get an email by 6 am on Sunday morning, either saying we ARE shooting or ARE NOT shooting.
Thanks for your support, everyone.

January 2020 Biloxi USPSA pistol match – Registration open *UPDATE*
Registration is open and slots are still available for this month’s USPSA match, presented by the Deep South Shooters Association. The match will take place at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi on January 26, 2020. Shooting begins at 9 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check in and pay, but earlier is always better.
NOTE: USPSA has released 4 new classifiers for this year, which were developed and tested at the 2019 Nationals. Unless you shot the Hi-Cap or Lo-Cap Nationals in 2019, you haven’t shot these yet. We will do all four of the new ones, plus one from the oldies but goodies files.Â
The new ones are really just small field courses. They all feature movement, none have required magazine changes (unless you actually run out of rounds in a lo-cap division) and none have a strong hand or weak hand requirement. If you want a look at them, they can be found at the USPSA web page.Â
We will shoot at least one more classifier, possibly 2 more. They will be chosen from ones that also DO NOT require strong hand/weak hand shooting, and do have movement, if at all possible.Â
If you shoot this match in a new division to you, you will get a classification from this one match. Juniors shoot for free, CPRC members shoot for $15, all others shoot for $20.

January 2020 Poplarville USPSA Pistol match **CANCELLED**
The monthly USPSA Pistol match scheduled for Sunday, January 12, 2020 has been cancelled due to the rain on Saturday. Ironically, the entire road at the range was fixed just this week, but now vulnerable to significant damage if we were to drive on it while wet tomorrow morning. Hopefully, the hunters will stay off it as well and let it dry in its newly, flattened state.

January 2020 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
‘Round about Friday, it wasn’t looking good for the match. With two solid days of rain, my phone was buzzing with shooters wanting to know if we were going to be able to shoot. I was skeptical about the road being usable, but it turned out to be as *good* as it has been for the past few months. I guess the severe ruts are acting as channels to drain away the water. It only took a 2WD vehicle to get in although a truck made it a bit easier. Anyway, we got to shoot.
The weather was great, after it finally warmed up. When I got to the range to put up the targets, it was a crisp 32 degrees. Thankfully, by 9 it was warm enough for short sleeves. The rest of the day was perfect with clear skies, mild temps and a slight breeze. Not too bad for early January.
We had a respectable 18 shooters with us today, and it made for decent size squads. There were enough folks to get things reset but not so big as to be slow. There was some discussion in my squad about creating a new division called “Leonhardt.” The only requirement to shoot that division is your last name. If you aren’t a Leonhardt, you have to shoot in the “Participation Trophy” division. It will come as no surprise that your match winner, regardless of division, was Read more…
