Because the first Sunday in December actually is at the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, we are cancelling the match. Neither Wayne nor myself will be able to set up or be there on match day, so we will see you next year!

November 2019 Biloxi (DSSA) pistol match results **UPDATE**

November 25, 2019 2 comments

This is a brief update to the results from this past Sunday’s USPSA match. I was notified by Kevin Leonhardt that a Mike he had on steel on stage 2 was not recorded. I updated the results and he dropped from 4th to 6th overall, but the good news for Ethan Boudeaux is he is now the CO division winner! Congratulations, Ethan! And, thank you to Kevin for correcting the scores. You don’t have to return the prize money, though 😉

November 2019 Biloxi (DSSA) pistol match results

November 24, 2019 Leave a comment

It was back to business as usual in Biloxi after missing last month due to the Gator Classic. I bet more than a few of you forgot just how diabolical Gerwin can be when he gets his mind into it. He talked about carnival games at the shooters meeting and he delivered. The weather was fantastic, while the shooting… well, good for some.

It was a bit of a light turnout with just 37 shooters, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of those that did come out. The aptly named I Hate You (aka Stage 2) was not so kind to a lot of the competitors and I swear there were magazines piling up on a couple of spots as folks went to war with the remnants of a Texas Star. It helps to remember that sometimes taking a miss can be the best choice. It seems so wrong to think that way, but when a plate can only be seen screaming by for a half second and then disappears for about 3 seconds, you gotta know your limits. A hard earned lesson for some, I think. Here is a video from one who did well there.

You can bet the winner didn’t have any issues there, either. Or anywhere else for that matter. Today’s winner in overall also took the Open division with a very solid performance, winning by 8.5%. Congratulations once again to Read more…

November 2019 Brothers N Arms USPSA Match Results

November 17, 2019 Leave a comment

It was a triumphant return to action in Hattiesburg today, with 61 people coming out for the new Brothers N Arms match. What was new was the match staff. Nick Brandt has taken over as Match Director and Bryce Dupuy as chief stage designer. He designed the stages, and along with his brother Blayne and their dad also built all 7 stages for today’s match. Great job, guys!

Couple this new team with perfect weather and you have a great day of shooting. Seven stages and six squads indicates the desire is still there for a match in Hattiesburg. We thank all the shooters for the support. We know many of you traveled a long way to shoot with us, sometimes eschewing a closer match just because of the quality you have come to expect from this match. We really appreciate your confidence in us.

While the match staff has changed, the names at the top of the leader board look more familiar. With the overall and Open division win was none other than Read more…

USPSA Pistol returns to Hattiesburg! **UPDATE**

November 13, 2019 Leave a comment

**UPDATE November 13, 2019**

At this time, we have 62 65 66 68 registered shooters for the match on Sunday! It’s fantastic to see everyone return to support this club. As a bonus for your support, this match will have 6 stages PLUS one classifier. We have even produced a match book to get you pumped! Don’t expect this each and every time, but it’s been a while since we shot there, so consider this a treat. To download it, just click here BNA 2019-11 Match book V1.

A few housekeeping notes are in order, as well. The shooting will start at 9 AM sharp. The range will open by 7:30 AM and check in should be open by 8 AM at the latest. Please arrive NO LATER THAN 8:30 AM to check in. If you are not there by that time, you may be deleted from the match. The match fee will be $20 for all shooters. Unfortunately, all the BNA USPSA club memberships have expired, so everyone will shoot for $20 this time.

The match limit has been raised to 75 shooters and an additional squad has been added. We will try to keep the squad size to 12 or less, so if you want to move, now is the time to do it. We also reserve the right to rearrange things based on no-shows. This may be necessary to balance the squads, but we hope not. The weather should be great on Sunday, so if you are still on the fence, now is the time to sign up!

October 11, 2019

November 2019 Poplarville pistol match results

Dawson PrecisionThe weather could not have been more perfect today if we had pre-ordered it. This meant there were no excuses for not having a good time. We saw 30 shooters make the trip and enjoy 6 stages that made you shoot, move, aim and just do all those core USPSA skills that we do so well! The road is still in bad shape but we should have that fixed before next month.

With 6 stages and 3 squads, I don’t think anyone had to wait on a stage. My group didn’t and it was pretty nice. The stages seemed well balanced with a couple of fairly low round count ones with challenging shooting and manipulations in the mix. The field courses were also challenging without being mean, and also required the core skill set to be used.

There were some changes in the air with the locals today, and they were all for the good. Jason Welch has found a new division in Limited after success in Production and PCC. The Henn Brothers (actually father and son) returned from a long shooting hiatus while they opened their wonderful new fish store in Biloxi (https://www.facebook.com/justfishbiloxi/) this summer. For the second or third month in a row, George Hemstad brought out some brand new shooters, and that deserves a huge thank you! Things are going well. So, let’s see who won today.

Marking his triumphant return to Poplarville with an overall and Open division win is Read more…
