BPSA July 2016 USPSA Results!

July 24, 2016 2 comments

The pouring rain was no deterrent to 44 shooters who suffered through it and shot soggy targets and floppy heads while slip sliding on slippery surfaces.

At least it wasn’t hot!

The stages were short and quick, with no steel. They were inspired by production nationals, and had lots of tight shots, no shoots, and far targets.

If you maneuvered through today without any penalties, then you are one of the few.

Congrats to Roger Henn for the overall and open win, Steven Mosher winning Limited, and Rodney May for winning production.

And congrats to Mike Strong for winning the Springfield XD!

Most importantly, thanks to everyone who came out in less than ideal conditions to support the match, especially those who drive such long distances to come and participate.

Especially want to thank those special few who help make it all possible by helping setup.

July Brothers N Arms USPSA Pistol Match

July 23, 2016 Leave a comment

The rain relented, the range dried out (mostly), and 49 shooters came out to brave the heat.  The stages were challenging but moved along well, with the match finishing up around 12:30.  A huge thank you to all helping with breakdown, we couldn’t do this without you!

Our very own Bryant Chaffin took top match honors as well as winning both the Limited division and Grand Master class.  Bryan Tullos was the top shooter in Open and Brandon Guillory won Production.  Full results can be found here.

On another note, a few of you mentioned that you had not received credit for the classifier at our May match.  I think I have found the problem, but it lies with USPSA.  I have reached out to them for a fix which, hopefully, will be forthcoming.

Please note –

We are planning a special classifier match for the August 27 event.  This is a great opportunity for new shooters to get their classification fast tracked or for someone to get an additional classification taken care of by shooting just one match.  The plan right now is to have a minimum of four to five classifier stages.  This will have the added benefit of moving the match along at a nice pace during the hottest month of the year!

Had 17 shooters turn out today for 3-gun, and we got lucky and were able to dodge to the rain and most of the heat as we were done right about noon. Huge thanks to those who help setup and tear down afterwards. Results below:

July 2016 Poplarville pistol match results

Dawson PrecisionWe planned for hot weather, and guess what? We were right. It was hot! But the quick stages and lack of steel helped things move along. We were done shooting before Noon and were on the road by 12:30 PM. And, it started raining just as we were pulling out. Talk about timing…

For the second straight month, the turnout was fantastic. We had 37 shooters come out to challenge the heat. We had one shooter that retired due to an injury and one unfortunate DQ. But it seems like everyone else liked the quick, but surprisingly challenging stages.

The overall match winner is no stranger to podium finished. Standing atop the heap once again was  Read more…
