March 9, 2015 Leave a comment

This Sunday, the Pearlington club will host the regular USPSA pistol match. This month will be a regular match with four stages plus one classifier, instead of the classifier match, as we have done in past years. Word is, EAPS is having a classifier match this Sunday, so if you want to shoot a regular match, come on out!

We are also introducing online registration for the first time. Pearlington Online Registration  Click the link to sign up early and help the match crew out!

February 2015 Pearlington pistol match results

Mardi Gras season is upon us and it appeared that some of the regulars were at the parades today. It was a bit of a light turnout, with only 27 shooters today. That’s below the average but understandable given the season. Once again, though, the trip was worth it.

We tried something new today by  NOT shooting a classifier and having 5 regular stages. It you liked this, or didn’t like this, please let us know. It didn’t mean many more shots for the match, but it did mean one new stage that no one has ever seen before.

It didn’t affect the scores and it certainly didn’t slow down the winner. High overall today went to  Read more…

January 2015 Pearlington pistol match results

The first match of the new year was well attended and well-weathered. It was a bit cool at 9 AM, but by the end of the match, it was short sleeve weather. With forty shooters and five great stages from the mind of Bob, we cruised to a smooth match and were done by just a little after Noon. Our fearless leader abandoned us for a cruise today, but it didn’t seem to affect anyone.

December 2014 Pearlington pistol match results

We ended up the 2014 shooting season with a bang today. Lots of them, actually. Thirty-five shooters came out to squeeze one more match in before the New Year. Thanks to five quick stages from Bob, we got done at a reasonably hour and were headed home shortly thereafter.

When the dust had settled, and the scores tallied, there was a familiar face at the top of the heap. The overall winner and Open division winner was Read more…

November 2014 Pearlington pistol match results

Although our fearless leader was vacationing in Mexico, the lackeys came through today. The workers bees pulled off a great match, beating the weather and the clock. We expected a few more shooters, with the Louisiana match being cancelled, but nevertheless, we will take what we get. There were 32 competitors today and we were headed home by 12:15 PM. Dry. Comfortable. Happy.

Sorry for the late results today. There were some issues with syncing the scores and it took until this evening to get things completed. However, the results will be worth the wait. There were 45 shooters today and near perfect weather. As the last match before the Gator next weekend, many of the competitors looked to get that last bit of practice in. Hopefully, you paid attention today if you are shooting the Gator…

And now, on to the results. Our match winner and Open division winner was Read more…

Someone forgot to tell the weatherman that this is September and it is supposed to be cooling down by now. It turned out to be quite warm, at least while standing in the Sun. The shade was nice if you could find it, but it wasn’t available on every stage. With Tom away today, it was left to the second string to put on the match, but things worked out just fine. The stages were challenging, but not overly difficult. We had 39 shooters, which is decent by any measure.

August 2014 Pearlington pistol match results

The rained threatened but never materialized. Forty-one shooters signed up today and we got the match in, even though rain and lightning surrounded the area all morning. Thank you to Bob for some great stages, once again. Quick, challenging but not overly difficult. The results were a bit unexpected, but then again, maybe not.

July 2014 Pearlington pistol match results

What a day it was today! This was our biggest turnout ever, and yet, everything worked perfectly. With rain cancelling EAPS, we picked up a bunch of Cajun shooters who normally don’t shoot our match. We had 61 shooters compete over 5 stages, and everyone beat the rain.

Some of the results don’t look anything like normal, which just goes to show if you shoot at the top of your game, you can win the big one. We had two big upsets for a pair of shooters who have labored in the shadow of their (tor)mentors. Until today. Our overall match winner was Read more…
