BPSA December Pistol Match .. December 14th .. Cancelled!

Due to many factors, one of which is the weather forecast, the match on Saturday is cancelled. We at BPSA wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! See you in January!! Until then .. Be Safe…Have Fun!!!
Stages are set for Saturday. As of now the match is a GO, but the forecast calls for 52 degrees and a 70% chance of rain. That may get messy…. As we get closer, we will try to determine if the rain is forecasted for the morning or afternoon. We will have to make a decision by Friday evening, so if there are any changes, we will post the update here. Check back before you head out to the range. If we do have to cancel, don’t despair…..The Pearlington match is on Sunday!!!
As always, we need R.O’s, help scoring, pasting and, of course, breaking down your last stage. Match sign-up begins at 8:15 – Safety Briefing and Hammer Down at 9:00. This month’s stages can be previewed by clicking on the stage icon below. We look forward seeing you there!!! Gate code 4000. Be Safe, Have Fun.
December 2013 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
I guess everyone was too *stuffed* with turkey to come out and shoot today. Unfortunately, we had only 4 shooters for the match, which was very disappointing. The weather was fantastic, the stages great, but the crowds thin.
After being the runner-up for so many matches, Joe Jones finally won a match today with a consistent performance. While the stages appeared easy, there were more penalties that usual for some, and this resulted in Joe’s big win by simply not making mistakes. He deserved this win by taking 3 of the 4 stages, and placing second in the other one. Congratulations to Joe!
We are going to have to reassess the match status if we can’t get a better turnout than this. Yeah, this was a holiday weekend, but still we expected better than just four. If you enjoy shooting 3-gun and can make most of the matches, we need to hear from you. If we can’t generate enough interest, then it just isn’t worth the effort to set up a match for 4 or even 6 people. It is just too much work for the shooters and the staff with so little help.

BPSA November Pistol Match Results

This is a good time of year here in South Mississippi and we had another excellent day of shooting!! Great match today with another batch of challenging stages. We would like to thank Gerwin Henn, Bryant Willett, and crews for coming out and setting up stages 2 and 5; our two “Top Secret” stages. You all can’t imagine how much we appreciate your help. With the time change we didn’t think we would have near enough time on Friday night to set-up. Thanks for jumping in because without your help, we would never have gotten everything finished in time for the Saturday’s match. We are really lucky to have folks that are willing to step up and chip in.
Just to let everyone know.. if anyone ever has any ideas for a stage, you are welcome to come on out and have at it. We appreciate the help and you may just have a talent for stage design that you just don’t know about yet.
Again and as usual, thanks for all your help and support of all our regulars. Without you, we could not make this all happen!
Congratulations to this month’s winners….

We need R.O’s, help scoring, pasting and, of course, breaking down your last stage. Match sign-up begins at 8:15 – Safety Briefing and Hammer Down at 9:00. BPSA October Pistol Match Results

Another great match today!! If you did not make it, you missed a match that definitely challenged everyone’s shooting and stage breakdown skills. Just to give you an idea of what everyone was up against, only 6 of the 42 shooters shot stage 4 clean. I think we would all like to thank our BPSA Stage design team (won,t mention any names) for giving us a chance to test our steel shooting skills on the stage 3. No-Shoots behind little poppers are always a fun… Well, you can always tell yourself… These kind of matches make us all better shooters…….
Just to let everyone know.. if anyone ever has any ideas for a stage, you are welcome to come on out and have at it. We appreciate the help and you may just have a talent for stage design that you just don’t know about yet.
Again and as usual, thanks for all your help and support. Without you, we could not make this all happen!
Congratulations to this month’s winners….

**Scores have been updated, we missed entering Robert’s score on stage 4**
This was the match that was not meant to be. Because of Tropical Storm Karen, the match was threatened numerous times with cancellation. But we never did. We set up Saturday afternoon, hoping for the best. Sunday morning came and it looked like we might pull it off. Unfortunately, it didn’t look that way everywhere. While pre-match interest was very high, only 6 shooters ended up making it out. I know of at least 10 more who had committed to coming but were probably influenced by the weather, especially if you lived in Louisiana.
As it turned out, we had only a few light showers, and only one during the match. It ended up sunny and hot! The wind was non-existent. So, overall, it was a pretty decent day. It’s too bad we didn’t have a better turnout. The states were a great mix of challenges with fast, close shooting on some and long range shots required on others. On one state, we had half the shooters time out, because of the demands of the stage. When the smoke cleared, one shooter emerged on top. Read more…

BPSA September Pistol Match Results

Excellent match today!! I think it was one of the best ever!! Weather turned out to be great, stages were outstanding, and the competition was intense. This month we had 53 entries that included 3 Master class shooters. We appreciate everyone coming out to shoot.
In case you didn’t know, that great “Run and Gun” stage down on the south range was designed and set up by our friends from the Mobile Club. For that, we would like to especially thank Mac Hart, Jeff Blitch, and Robbie Foil for coming over Friday and making that happen. Great job … everyone really enjoyed and appreciated it.
Just to let everyone know.. if anyone ever has any ideas for a stage, you are welcome to come on out and have at it. We appreciate the help and you may just have a talent for stage design that you just don’t know about yet.
