September 2015 Poplarville 3-gun update (Saturday night)
We set up the match this afternoon, but a shower dampened the range and the road late in the afternoon. Wayne reports that the road isn’t too bad, but the lower, flat part is quite “squishy”. We are still shooting, as of now. The next forecasted rain isn’t until 11 AM tomorrow, at a 50 % chance. Let’s hope our luck holds out. If something changes, I will update this web site from the range, but the match is on unless I explicitly post a cancellation here.
September 2015 Poplarville 3-Gun match announcement
3-Gun returns to the woods in Poplarville! The Fall season begins on September 6, 2015 with the first match of the season.
We are looking for a big turnout to kick things off. However, the match falls on the Sunday of the Labor Day weekend. Hopefully, you have already gotten that Summer vacation out of the way and are ready to get back to business. We are urging everyone who is going to attend to pre-register, so we can ensure that we will have enough shooters to make it worthwhile. August 2015 Pearlington (Swamp Eagles) pistol match results
After several months of unrelenting heat, we finally got a break. It wasn’t hot today, but it was wet! In hindsight, we should have just cancelled on the threat of rain, but hope sprung eternal, at least at 9 AM. While we had a big shower before 7 AM, we thought we could get it in. Several shooters made the call to not shoot and left before the first shot. Those that stayed were treated to continuous teasing by the rain and sun gods. It would rain, then stop and look promising. August Pearlington match update
The weather is looking a bit iffy, but we are still on. There is a decent chance the range can miss the rain, so we are going to be there. However, please check for updates by 7:30 AM just in case.

July 2015 Pearlington (Swamp Eagles) pistol match results
It is sounding like a broken record, but it was blisteringly hot today. That may be why the turnout was a bit down. There were only 31 shooters today and many of those thought the ones that didn’t come were the smart ones. Several shooters got overheated and had to seek shade to recover. We managed to get done by around Noon and got picked up shortly after that, but it was still just unmercifully hot and humid by that time. Thank you to everyone who helped pick up the props.

July 2015 Poplarville pistol match results
It’s full-on Summer and Mother Nature was out with a vengeance today. Because of the heat, we shot only four stages, and they were relatively quick. And, as a result, we were out of there by 11:15 AM. So, at least it didn’t linger on and on.
The turnout was a bit light with just 13 shooters, but the stages were fun. I normally save the thanks for the end of the post, but today deserves special credit. We had the best help I can remember in a long, long time. Your match staff really appreciates that because they got to the range at 6:30 AM and were just plain worn out by the end of the shooting. Thanks again, everybody, for helping get things picked up.
