South Mississippi Practical Shooting

MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT:
The BPSA June 2016 USPSA Pistol Match will be held June 26th, 2016 at Coast Rifle & Pistol Club near Biloxi, MS.

PRIZE GIVEAWAY:
One Springfield XD 9mm (MSRP $508) by random draw at the conclusion of the match, courtesy of Springfield Armory. Need not be present to win.

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to everyone.

MATCH FEE:
$10 Juniors
$15 CRPC Members
$20 non-CRPC members
Payment will be accepted at registration.

SCHEDULE:
Registration opens at 8:15am. Shooter meeting at 8:45am. Shooting starts at 9AM sharp.

Once you register and are approved, you will be allowed to squad.

MATCH DETAILS:
The match is a USPSA handgun match with 5 stages. There will not be a classifier at this match.

Had 16 shooters come out to today’s 3-gun match and we were lucky enough to dodge the rain and unbearable heat and have overcast skies most of the day.

Stages offered a good mix and were quick enough to allow us all to be done around noon.

Huge thanks to everyone that came out and shot and helped with setup and tear down, you guys really help make it a great match!

Had 32 entries in this evening’s classifier match where we tried out open squadding. Seemed like it went well and was pretty smooth. Look forward to doing more like these on the 1st Sunday of the month. Thanks also to everyone who helped with setup and tear down. Results are uploaded to USPSA and Practiscore. The 2016 Mississippi CQB Rifle Championship, sponsored in part by Rock River Arms and Burris Optics, will be held August 28th, 2016 at Coast Rifle & Pistol Club near Biloxi, MS.

PRIZE GIVEAWAY:
One Rock River Arms LAR-15 R3 Competition Rifle (MSRP $1,355) by random draw at the conclusion of the match, courtesy of Rock River Arms.
One Burris MTAC 1-4x24mm rifle scope (MSRP $479) by random draw at the conclusion of the match, courtesy of Burris Optics.
PLAQUE RECOGNITION:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall in Rifle division.
State Champion in Rifle Division (MS residents only)

MATCH FEE: $35
Once registered and approved you will be sent squadding and payment info. You have 14 days from registering to pay or you will be removed from the match. Refunds will be given up to one week prior to the match.

SQUAD SCHEDULE:
We will be running an AM and PM schedule.

AM schedule shoots from 9am-12pm
PM schedule shoots from 1pm-4pm.

Squad size will be limited to 8. More shooting and less waiting.

You are allowed to shoot twice, as long as you shoot in a different division, and you will be entered twice to win the prizes. (One entry in Rifle, one entry in 22LR)
***If you shoot twice, it must be separate schedules, AM and PM. No shooting twice in same schedule.***
MATCH DETAILS:
The match will be 5 stages similar to our USPSA pistol stages, only we will be shooting them with rifles. Scoring will be Time Plus.

.223/5.56/.308/22LR and pistol caliber carbines welcome.

We will have two divisions, centerfire rifle and 22LR.

We recommend an AR style rifle with 30+ round magazine.

There will be no mandatory reloads, and stages will not require more than 30 rounds, so minimal gear is needed to compete.

Just show up with a rifle, a 30 or 40 round magazine, ammo, and of course eye and ear protection and you will be good to go.

Recommend 150 rounds, bring more if you plan on missing.

Chamber flags required, we will have some on hand if you need one.

BPSA is hosting a 3 stage classifier match to be held on Sunday afternoon, June 5th, from 4-8pm.

This match will use OPEN SQUADDING.

Show up any time between 4-8pm, put your name on the board, and when it is your turn, you shoot all three classifiers, staying hot in between, and then after you are finished you are free to leave.

There will be no reshooting classifiers in the same division. One attempt per division.

You are welcome to shoot in multiple divisions, if you pay additional match fees.

Match fee is $10.

The BPSA May 2016 CQB Rifle Match is this Sunday, May 29th!

Thanks to an incredibly generous sponsorship from FN USA we will be randomly giving away a FN 15 Sporting Rifle valued at $1,759….and let me tell you folks, this is one sweet rifle!

We will be recognizing the top 3 finishers in rifle division, and the winner of the 22LR division.

Reminder: The match is full, registration is closed, and we will not be accepting walk-ups.

Spectators are welcome!

Had yet another great turnout with 24 shooters coming out to the 3-gun match today to enjoy perfect weather and four challenging stages.
