July 2016 Poplarville pistol match results
We planned for hot weather, and guess what? We were right. It was hot! But the quick stages and lack of steel helped things move along. We were done shooting before Noon and were on the road by 12:30 PM. And, it started raining just as we were pulling out. Talk about timing…
For the second straight month, the turnout was fantastic. We had 37 shooters come out to challenge the heat. We had one shooter that retired due to an injury and one unfortunate DQ. But it seems like everyone else liked the quick, but surprisingly challenging stages.
The overall match winner is no stranger to podium finished. Standing atop the heap once again was Corey Yates, who also took Open. In Limited, Gerwin Henn was first. In Production, Brant Pace topped the pack, and Wayne Alcock was best in Limited 10.
We greatly appreciate the help in picking everything up at the end of the match. With no steel to tote, it was done in record time. And, of course, thank you to everyone who came out today to support the club. The average match attendance for 2016 has been 32, which is more than 50% greater than the past few years. Hopefully, we are doing something right.
