How do you guys do all these matches?

    • July 26, 2016 at 10:19 PM

Yeah, you’re wrong. Your math is way off base, as is the negativity you are expressing towards our match.

      Anonymously, nonetheless.

First and foremost, no one clears anything, as BPSA and our host range CRPC are both non-profit, and 100% volunteer.

Every single dime goes back into supporting the event and others like it.

Being an anonymous armchair MD is a lot easier than the real thing.

For example, 15 of those 65 are staff that shoot free.

In addition, active duty and retired law enforcement shoot free.

On top of that we’re catering lunch. In your estimate you have $0 for catering lunch for 65 people. It’s a little more than that. Actually a lot more.

We’re also getting 15 plaques made for various division and category winners. That’s more than $0 you have budgeted. A lot more.

We’re shooting targets and using pasters that cost money. Again, a lot more than the $0 you have budgeted.

You didn’t take any of that into account.

As you stated, we are also giving out $250 to each division winner, and over $1,000 in merchandise as prizes.

Key word being “over”. Any and all excess goes to prizes. Sometimes we even kick in more over and above.

And this does not include donated prizes. Any donated prizes get added to the pot.

For example, our NSSF Rimfire Championship on Saturday has 40 entrants at $30 for adults and $15 for kids. We took in $990 in entry fees. We are giving out over $2,000 in prizes and providing a catered lunch.

We also give out a $500 MSRP handgun at every one of our monthly USPSA matches from June to the end of the year.

Let me know if you find another club that gives back more to their participants than we do, because I’d love to know about it and go shoot it with you.
