September 2017 Brothers N Arms USPSA Match

Thirty nine shooters came out for what was technically the last match of the summer at the Brothers N Arms club yesterday.  We got off to a bit of a foggy start, but before long the sun came out and let us know that it is, indeed, still summer, no matter what the calendar might say.  The six stages moved along nicely with a good round count, a fair amount of steel, and lots of movement.  Many thanks to our Match Director, Cliff Gaddis, for the hard work he puts into both the selection and setting up of our stages each month!

Limited was our largest division by a good margin and had four of the top five shooters in it’s ranks, including the top competitor overall, David Pape.  Number two overall and first in Carry Optics was Russ Smith.  Betsy Young was our top Open division shooter, Gerald Benton was the decisive winner in PCC, and Steven Mosher took the podium in Prodution.  Rounding out the divisions winners, Nick Brandt dominated Single Stack by almost 25% over the next closest competitor and we were happy once again to have Jim Lowman down from the Jackson area shooting Revolver.

All in all, everyone enjoyed a well put together match and some very good camaraderie, which, for me, is a big part of the sport.  Many thanks to all the help with break down, many hands make for quick work.  Complete scores can be found on Practiscore and on USPSA.org

A quick reminder for everyone that took the Range Officer class in Hattiesburg last year – Your certification will expire next month.  If you wish to maintain it, you must take the online exam provided on the USPSA’s website.  Instructions for doing so can be found here.

That was one of the funnest matches I’ve shot in a while. We had a great squad and stages were great, you could see a lot of work went into them. Thanks a lot to you and cliff for all y’all hard work, I certainly appreciate it!

Thanks, Steve, that means a lot coming from someone who has “been there, done that”!
