South Mississippi Practical Shooting

Once again, the day started out a bit crisp with a brisk North wind blowing. However, by the time the first shot was fired, it seemed to have calmed down and turned out to be a very pleasant day. In all, 55 shooters made it out to test their skills on 6 great stages. More and more steel is appearing at our match and hopefully, you like it. There were quite a few comments last month and most favored more rather than less steel. So, there you go…

When the six stages were done and the scores tallied, there was little drama about the results. For the second month in a row, the overall match winner and Limited division winner was Steven Sanders, who won by over 10%. The Open division was taken by Sloan Sanders, with Corey Mitchell winning Production. Lindy Bailey took PCC, while Rob Chapman was tops in Carry Optics. Bob Brandt took Single Stack and Gerald Benton rounded out the podium with his win in Revolver. Congratulations to all the division winners and thank you to all the shooters who took part in today’s match.

As always, we greatly appreciate the help in getting the props picked up and put us. Your match staff appreciates the help. If anyone is interested, you are always welcome to help set up the match. Today’s match was essentially set up by just two people over the course of an entire day. That’s a lot of work for a couple of “older gentlemen.” Most people don’t realize how much effort goes into setting up for a match. Please make sure you let Greg and Cliff know how much you appreciated their hard work in setting up today’s match.

The scores are posted on Practiscore here, but the USPSA scores will be posted in a day or two. The regular score guy was out this weekend, so we had a stand-in and he isn’t an authorized USPSA uploader for this club. We should still make the next classifier run, but it will likely get done on Monday.
