BPSA September 2016 USPSA Results!
We had 65 competitors come out today for the BPSA September 2016 USPSA match, and we hope everyone enjoyed the match and appreciate all of you coming out and participating.
Aside from just big numbers turning out to shoot our matches lately, it’s also the quality of folks coming out recently that really make the match special.
Now on to the action:
Stage 1 was a classifier stage, Riverdale Standards. It was a three string standards stage that test strong and weak hand shooting and required one shot per paper. Chris Plaisance made easy work of this stage with his CZ Scorpion, hitting all Alphas in 17.30 for the overall stage win with a 5.7803 hit factor. Roger Henn was not far behind in Open division with a slightly faster time but dropping more points to finish with a 5.4589 hit factor.
Stage 2 was a 28 round field course with 4 walls and targets scattered around that presented some tough leans and a few tight shots. We saw this stage run a variety of different ways, and there was no clear consensus on how it should be done. When the dust settles, however, it was pretty clear that Corey Yates was doing some things on this stage the rest of us haven’t learned yet as he ran away with the overall stage win by over 22%. It wasn’t even close.
Stage 3 consisted of only six targets, which you had to shoot six times. It’s no surprise that the guys with the quick trigger fingers would rise to the top on this stage, and that’s exactly what father/son duo Robert and Jonathan Jones did here, as they put up the 1st and 2nd fastest times and finished the stage 2nd and 3rd as they were just edged out on points by Corey Yates who took yet another stage win.
Stage 4 was an “N” shaped field course that had some retreating movement, and a mix of steel and tight shots. Corey Yates took home the overall stage win here as well, followed closely by Steven Mosher and Jonathan Jones.
Stage 5 was a 31 round long course. Very long course, in that in involved forward movement of nearly the entire 40 yard bay. The guys who wore their running shoes today fared better on this one, and while it was again won by Corey Yates, he was followed closely by Roger Henn and Bill Mahley.

We’d also like to thank everyone that helped setup the match, for without you none of it would be possible. Lee Frasier, Gerwin Henn, Roger Henn, Gerald Forbes, Chris Davis, Sandi Davis, Nick Jamerson, and Aaron Fitzgerald. If you see these guys give them a big high five!
Big thanks to everyone who came out and shot the match, ran timers, scored nooks, pasted targets, and helped tear down. It really is a team effort.
We’re also extremely thankful to our host range CRPC, for sponsoring all active duty and retired law enforcement to shoot all BPSA events free though 2016!
See you at the next match!
