May 2016 Pearlington (Swamp Eagles) pistol match results

Although the web master forgot to post the match notification this week, the turnout was actually pretty good, at least for as long as the match has been in Poplarville. We had 25 shooters come out today and they were treated unusually pleasant weather. The humidity was mild, as were the temperatures. So, the environment was ripe for a great performance.

At least a few shooters had a good match and their scores put them on top. The overall match winner was Steve Lasavia, who also won Open. The margin of victory was a little over 3% so it was convincing. Robert Jones took first in Limited with a great overall match (16 competitors here), while Steve Lashinsky took Production and Nick Saucier topped the Single Stack division.

The match ran smoothly today so we finished before Noon and were picked up shortly thereafter. Thank you to everyone for getting the props put away and for the overall help.

Thank you also goes out to the shooters who have chosen to support the Poplarville club by joining or renewing their membership. Your membership goes a long way towards helping us keep the match running.

Next weekend is the 20th anniversary of the Mississippi Classic and many of the local shooters will be competing. Good luck to everyone who will be in Byram!

And finally, Tom will be suspending this match starting next month. He is still looking for a new range, but is also considering selling the entire match, including all props and the rights to the existing club, to anyone interested in a turn-key match that just needs a home range. If you or anyone you know is interested in running a match, no matter where it might shoot, please contact Tom Duchmann directly. NOTE: This does NOT affect the regular Poplarville match. They will continue to shoot in the second Sunday as they always have for over thirty-five years.
