April 2014 Poplarville pistol match results

Dawson PrecisionSummer may have arrived early as our match today was a bit on the warm side. After all the cold weather this winter, no one was complaining, though. It was the membership renewal match today and we had 10 people renew and several others “promise” to renew next month. We greatly appreciate the support from our members and shooters.

Although Area 6 was finishing up in Georgia today and drained away several of our regulars, we still had 20 people show up to compete. As usual, we had five great stages and managed to finished shortly after Noon. So things rolled right along.

Each of the six divisions had at least one competitor, so the results are lengthy. Our match winner was…

Wayne Alcock, who was shooting Limited 10 (.45). Sadly for the rest of us, Wayne flat out-shot us all by a wide margin. Bill Jackson took second overall and high Limited. In Production, Lee Frasier took his first match win in Poplarville, while Tim Prochilo took Open. The ever reliable Gerald Benton took Revolver and Bob Brandt rounded out the winner’s column with a victory in Single Stack.

Thanks again for all the help in stage design, setup, tear-down and overall pitching in. Your match staff really appreciates it and certainly couldn’t do it without you, our shooters.

And finally, Cecil B. DeMille learned a valuable lesson today. Never shoot video with a paster on your lens! And he missed the best run of anyone on the classifier because of it! Poor Roger will just have to remember the glory WITHOUT his YouTube moment.
