October 2012 Poplarville pistol match results

The weather is still a bit confused, because it was actually pretty hot today, and it’s already mid-October. It should be cool and dry. But, it certainly was bearable and the 16 shooters that showed up shot another round of challenging stages. There were five challenges today and some rose to the occasion, and some… well… you know.

There were some familiar faces at the top and a few new ones.

Our overall match and Production division winner was Jason Welch, and it wasn’t even close. Jason practically lapped the field, defeating second place shooter and Limited winner Josh Benton by almost 50 match points. Josh is shooting well these days and will be a serious threat when he manages to shoot a little more consistently. The Revolver winner was the always reliable Gerald Benton. Nate Taylor took Limited 10 for the second month in a row, and Bob Brandt also doubled by winning Single Stack. To see all the scores, click the score sheet at the right.

As those of you who shot noticed, the road in is getting really bad. We are working on grading and repairing, but until then, be careful as you drive in and out. The ruts are bad enough, but the washout at the bottom could swallow a small car.

Many thanks to everyone for helping set up and especially to Bob for designing another stage.
