January 2019 Poplarville USPSA Pistol match reminder
The South Mississippi Practical Shooting Association will host the monthly USPSA Pistol match on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the range in Poplarville. The match will begin at 9 AM.

January 2019 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
With the New Year and January, one thing is certain. The weather is either really great or really miserable. We lucked out and got the great weather. It was the nicest day I can remember shooting anywhere in a very long time. It was crisp at 6:45 AM but by the time the match started, it was short sleeve weather. The Sun was out, the humidity gone and the temperature was perfect. We even had a really good turnout for a 3-gun match. The past two matches had just 11 shooters each, but the nice weather brought out a handful more, and 18 folks got to enjoy some just fun stages. There weren’t any super long rifle shots, and minimal shotgun reloading, but lots of challenges for everyone to solve. The long-ish range stuff still gets people who don’t seem to have their rifles dialed in at distance, but those who did were able to put some space between themselves and the quantity instead of quality shooters.

Level II match in Hattiesburg in 2019, Yes or No?
Would you be interested in a Level II match at the Brothers-N-Arms range in Hattiesburg, MS on Sept. 27-29, 2019 (fifth weekend in September)? The match would have at least 10 stages and could have as many as 12-13. All USPSA divisions would be represented. We are just gauging interest in this match right now. Cost would be in line with other level II matches in this area. Shooting schedules and other details are not yet finalized. The only major match scheduled for this same weekend is the 2019 USPSA “Hicap” Nationals Carry Optics and Limited division match in Utah.

December 2018 Biloxi (DSSA) pistol match results
For the last match of the year and just two days before Christmas, we had a great turnout. A total of 46 shooters closed out the first full year for the Deep South Shooters Association with a bang, both figuratively and literally. The five stages pushed everyone to and sometimes beyond their capabilities. A couple of regulars stepped out of their comfort zone and strapped on a different division, just for a change. And we found out that it doesn’t matter a whole lot which gun you shoot for the good ones. The weather was also just about perfect with mostly overcast skies, and very mild temperatures the entire morning.

2019 Limcat Custom and Precision Delta Mississippi Classic Registration Opens at 7 PM for Everyone!
Registration for the 2019 Limcat Custom and Precision Delta Mississippi Classic opens for everyone at 7 PM on Dec.18, 2018. If you haven’t shot the Classic before, this is your chance to shoot one of the best matches in any state at any level. Couple great stages with free crawfish for all shooters and you have a winning combination.

December 2018 Biloxi USPSA pistol match – Registration open
Registration is open for this month’s USPSA match, presented by the Deep South Shooters Association. The match will take place at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi on December 23, 2018. Shooting begins at 9 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check in and pay.
Juniors shoot for free, CPRC members shoot for $15, all others shoot for $20.

December 2018 Poplarville USPSA Pistol match **CANCELLED**
The weather man says it is going to rain all day Saturday, so we are cancelling the pistol match scheduled for Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Registration for the 2019 Mississippi Classic opens Dec. 14th at 7 PM
Registration for the 2019 Mississippi Classic and Section Championship, sponsored by LimCat Custom and Precision Delta, will open at 7 PM CST on December 14th for Mississippi residents. It will close at 7 PM on December 17th, and then reopen on December 18th at 7 PM for anyone.
If you are not a resident of Mississippi, please do not register during the first open period. If you do, you will be removed from the match and have to re-register during the second open period.
You can click the big button here to get more information about the match, including the location, dates, costs and match details, but you will not be able to actually register until it opens on Dec.14th. This link will be the actual registration page for the match. NOTE: Squadding will not open until early April. You will be notified before squadding opens for the match.
