November 2020 Biloxi (DSSA) pistol match results
It was a lovely November day in Biloxi as we got back to the business of shooting. It’s been a tough year, schedule-wise. The last time I checked, this year is almost over (thankfully)!
There were 47 shooters tested on some very challenging, yet fun stages. Thanks to some great help running the squads, we moved along nicely and were finished shortly after Noon. Today was quite a physical workout as the sand on most of the bays was nice and fluffy, mostly from the lack of any measurable rain for quite some time. Unfortunately, nice and fluffy aren’t the best terms for a USPSA bay surface. But it gave you one extra thing to think about while shooting!
The results weren’t too surprising to most, with none other than Roger Henn in Open leading the field with a convincing 5% win overall. The Limited winner was Brandon Guillory, with Ethan Boudreaux taking the win in Carry Optics. In Production, it was Prez Lubecki on top, while David Gooch scored the win in PCC.
Today was also special for nine of our shooters who had just completed a 2-day training class with Steve Anderson, world-famous instructor and podcaster. Steve himself was at the match to be a mental coach for the students, and quite a few of them shot the best match of their entire life, thanks to Steve. If you ever have the chance to take a class with Steve, do it! It will be one of your best investments in your shooting career.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our club and for helping with stage tear-down. It is greatly appreciated. We will see you next month, same time, same place.
