BPSA March 2017 Shotgun Match, Saturday March 18th!
MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT:
The BPSA March 2017 Shotgun Match will be held at the conclusion of the regular 3-gun match on March 18th, 2017 at Coast Rifle & Pistol Club near Biloxi, MS.
MATCH DETAILS:
The match is three stages using Time Plus with Points scoring. Shotgun only.
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to everyone.

March 2017 Poplarville USPSA Pistol match reminder
The South Mississippi Practical Shooting Association will host the monthly USPSA Pistol match this coming Sunday (March 19, 2017) at the range in Poplarville. The match will begin at 9 AM.

March 2017 Poplarville USPSA Pistol match postponed one week
The March 12, 2017 USPSA pistol match has been postponed one week, to March 19, due to a conflict with the Alabama Sectional match the same weekend. Registration for the Poplarville pistol match will open on March 12.

MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT:
The BPSA March 2017 3-Gun Match will be held March 18th, 2017 at Coast Rifle & Pistol Club near Biloxi, MS.
MATCH DETAILS:
The match is four stages of USPSA 3-gun using Time Plus with Points scoring.
We are also offering our new Rimfire Rifle only division, which is a great place for beginners or juniors to get exposure to 3-gun without needing all the gear, or anyone looking to put some rounds through their Rimfire gun instead of bringing out all three.
RANDOM PRIZE GIVEAWAY:
One PSA 16″ M4 Carbine 5.56 NATO 1:7 Nitride 13.5″ Keymod Freedom Upper by random draw at the shooters meeting. Bolt carrier group and charging handle not included.
ELIGIBILITY:

Payment will be accepted at registration.
SCHEDULE:
Setup starts at 7am. Registration opens at 8:30am. Shooter meeting at 8:45am. Shooting starts at 9AM.
Gate code is 7000
DIVISIONS:
Open – anything goes. Optics or compensator on pistol. Two optics on rifle. No restriction on shotgun capacity.
Tactical – AR with magnification optic. Shotgun limited to 8+1 rounds at start. No optic or comp on pistol.
Limited – AR with no magnification (ie. 1x red dot or irons). Everything else same as tactical.
Heavy – Rifle .308 caliber, Pistol 40s&w or bigger. Shotgun 12ga.
Rimfire Rifle – 22LR rifle only. No pistol or shotgun.

March 2017 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
The turnout this month was down from last month’s match, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a lot of jostling for the big trophy. Thirteen shooters shot four stages of 3-gun today under ideal conditions. It was high 60’s to the very low 70’s much of the day, with overcast skies keeping the shooters comfortable. The stages were a bit more balanced this month and we finished at a respectable 1 PM.
The focus this month was on the shotgun, which was used on all four stages. Three of those stages required at least one reload and that always tests the shooter’s abilities that don’t often get a lot of practice. Rifle also caused some issues with both long shots on seemingly small steel targets and some awkward head shots at very close range.
Only one shooter managed to go penalty free today, and not surprisingly, he won. Congratulations go to Read more…
