November 2016 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
For the second month in a row, the weather was great. Nineteen shooters came out for 3-gun competition today and were treated to some really challenging stages. More than a few discovered their scope wasn’t zeroed as well as they hoped. With a flash target at 400 yards, you found out pretty quickly if you were on target. The short range stages also proved to be more challenging than the first glance may has offered.
When the scores were finally tallied, there was once again just one name at the top. Our winner today was Justin Myers with a score that left no doubt about the winner. Wayne Alcock, shooting in He-Man division, took second overall, but was more than 10% behind Justin. The rest of the field fell in behind. Today was interesting because not a single shooter escaped the penalty column on the scores. That hasn’t happened in quite some time and indicates the difficulty of the match.
Thank you to everyone who came out today to shoot, and especially to those that helped get everything torn down and packed up. Next Sunday is the pistol match, and if you shot today, you may have a bit of an advantage over those who didn’t. Just sayin’…
