October Brothers N Arms USPSA Pistol Match

What a difference a week can make, Fall is finally here!  We started a great day with temperatures in the low 50’s and I don’t think it ever got above 75 degrees.  We had a good turnout, fielding 3 squads with 30 shooters in total, more than was expected given that the Louisiana Gator Classic is in full swing this weekend. The hammers went down at 9 am and we were finished by noon.  Thank you to everyone that helped with breakdown, your efforts are invaluable to this club!

Thomas Knight won the overall match as well as the Limited division, but Corey Mitchell was right on his heels for a very close second overall and top honors in Production.  Gerald Patch was third overall and came out on top in Open, though it was very close between he and Bill Jackson.  Billy Matthews was first in Revolver and Dave Matos won the Single Stack division, which was made all the more impressive by the fact that it was his very first match!  Full scoring info can be found here on Practiscore and here at the USPSA site.

Lastly, a huge thank you to our wonderful hosts at the Brothers N Arms range.  They are a huge part of our little club’s success and this month marks their one year anniversary.  To celebrate they have invited everyone out on November 5 from 9 am to 3 pm for their First annual Fun and Guns Event. This event is free and open to the public.  Mississippi’s Helenbak Rifles will have suppressed rifles on hand for demonstrations, there will be an an AR-15 raffle, competitions on dueling trees and with bowling pins, free training clinics, food, prizes and more!  More details can be found here.
