April 2016 Poplarville pistol match results
It was a great day in Poplarville. Thirty-two shooters came to enjoy the nice weather and the great stages. We had 4 squads and 6 stages and things moved along well. As usual, the stages were challenging, but fun.
The match wasn’t a runaway, but then again, it wasn’t really all that close, either. With a margin of victory of slightly more than 3%, Open shooter Corey Yates notched his fourth Poplarville match win in a row. In Limited, Clayton Patterson was the winner, Wayne Alcock took Limited 10, Russ Smith beat the rest of the Production shooters, and Nick Brandt won his first match in Single Stack.
Thank you to all the shooters who helped with setup and tear-down. We really couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do it without your help.
A special thanks goes to all the shooters who either renewed their club membership or joined for the first time. We had a record 22 members join on the first day of membership season. Your support goes a long way towards keeping the club running.
And finally, a reminder to those who pick up brass. We don’t mind you picking up all the brass you can during the match, but when it comes time to sort, please make sure that you pick out the marked brass that isn’t yours. If someone took time to mark it, then they likely want it back. Usually, they can’t pick it up in real time.
