September 2015 Poplarville pistol match results

Dawson PrecisionWhat a difference a month makes. It seemed like Summer would never end, but it at least took a break today and treated 25 shooters to some spectacular weather. It was 57 when I got to the range today and only 77 by the time I left. The humidity was low and there was a light breeze and cloudless skies. What more could you ask for?

Well, how about some hot shooting? With the great turnout and even better stages, the game was on. The competition was hot and heavy, but in the end, the GM won the match. The winner by a comfortable margin was Steven Sanders in Limited. In Open, Keith Crescioni took the honors, with Jason Welch in Production, Gerald Benton in Revolver and Russ Smith in Single Stack rounding out the winner’s circle.

Even through we had three squads, no one ever waited for the squad ahead of them. The shooting was done shortly after noon and the last shooter left the range a 12:45 PM with everything pickup up and packed up. The club administration appreciates all the help we got with setup and tear-down today. As always, we could not do it without you!

And last, but certainly not least, the club graciously wishes to thank Gerald Benton for fixing the road. It was in horrible shape but thanks to his efforts, it should be good for a year or so, or until the redneck hunters rut it out again chasing after Bambi in the rain.
