May 2015 Poplarville pistol match results
The annual Mother’s Day match is always hit or miss. Those brave enough to sneak out and ignore Mom and/or the wife can expect to pay later on. Those that choose to honor that special woman often miss a good match. Today was one of those good ones. Although we had only 12 shooters, we had five great stages. With only one squad, we zipped through and were done shooting and tearing down by about 12:15 PM. Oh, yeah. Summer has arrived.
The overall match winner was Max Michel, who also took Open, and did so quite handily. Nick Saucier took the Limited honors, with Wayne Alcock winning Limited 10 and Lee Fraiser out-pointing the Production shooters.
Your club officers would like to thank all the shooters who renewed their memberships today. Your financial support is critical the the success of our club. The light turnout today should not be taken as an indication of lack of interest, because for the last two matches, we averaged 32 shooters.
Thank you to all the shooters for helping tear everything down so quickly. We pretty much tore down as we went, as the only squad shooting today.
And finally, next weekend is the Mississippi Classic. This is one of the top Level II matches in the South, and one of the hottest tickets as well. There are quite a few regular match goers who didn’t make it in this year and they will be sitting this one out. But to those that did get in, we wish you safe shooting, great weathers and the best of luck.
