April 2013 Poplarville 3-Gun match results

For such a nice day, it seemed no one wanted to shoot or could afford to. We only had 6 shooters make it out today, but that did not mean the match wasn’t top-notch. We shot four great stages, from quick quick quick, to long-range rifle with shotgun as a warm-up. You needed to be consistent today to score well and number one in consistent was…Wayne Alcock, our match winner. It wasn’t particularly close with Wayne taking 3 of the 4 stages and finishing second by only 3.5% on the fourth stage. Joe Jones took second but would have had a better score had the long-range stage not bit him on the ass. The middle of the pack was very closely bunched, however. To see the scores, click the score sheet to the right.

Once again, we want to thank the whole shooting squad today for the help in setting up and tearing down the props. Everyone did a great job at resetting the stages and the single squad moved right along. Without the extra help, your match directors just couldn’t do it. Thanks again.

And finally, a reminder about membership renewal. April is the month for paying your dues. Most importantly, the gate is now locked so you will need a key of you want to come out on non-match days. Your dues get you a $5 discount on all matches and help us pay for our range expenses. We appreciate you support.

Thanks to everyone for coming out. We had a short turnout, but everyone helped out, which makes it all worthwhile. Thanks to all. Good to have new shooter Carl join us, we hope to see ya back often. Thanks to “Mo” for the use of his steel.
If you want to get the adrenaline flowing, come on out and try 3gun.
