February 2013 Poplarville 3-Gun match results
Super Bowl… What Super Bowl??? While the turnout was a bit light today, the shooting was definitely SUPER! With 4 stages of varying skill level and shot count, we tested six shooters in all disciplines. From long, 3-gun affairs to quick, 2-gun speed shoots, we had it all. And, did I mention to bring your scopes? With rifle shots off the spring platform out to 400+ yards, you needed to know where your rifle shot to not waste a huge amount of time on Spring Hill. The weather was absolutely perfect, with temperatures in the mid-60’s all day and abundant sunshine.
The disaster factor loomed large for everyone today, with mega-misses, equipment problems, and just plain, brain-farts being the usual instead of the rare.In the end, the smooth shooting of Wayne Alcock again prevailed as he won his 6th 3-gun match in a row. Joe Jones took second and between these two, they shared all the stage wins. To see the scores, click the score sheet to the right.
Today was notable because of the outstanding support from the shooters in setup, tear-down and just plain pasting of targets. Everything went smoothly and your match directors greatly appreciate it. Thanks to everyone for coming out on SuperBowl Sunday.
Thanks for a great match.
