July 2012 Poplarville pistol match results
The rain did come today but it only caused a 30 minute delay to the match start time. We had to replace quite a few wet targets, but once we got going, we rolled. We had thirteen shooters take a chance with the rain and win big. We shot five great stages and actually got done reasonably early, considering the rain and retargeting exercise.
With thirteen shooters, we actually had 5 divisions represented today. So, there were lots of winners. And the envelope, please…
Our match winner and Open winner was Max Michel. The biggest surprise (or maybe not so much) was the performance of Bo Gray in Production. While his scores have been improving, today he shot 88% of the Open match winner to take Production and third overall, bested only by the two Open shooters. Bo has clearly raised his game to a new level and continued to rapidly rise to the top of the heap. Great job, Bo! In Limited, Bryant Willett cruised to victory, while Gerald Benton and Wayne Alcock took the top slots in Revolver and Limited 10, respectively. Many thanks to everyone for helping set up, retarget, and tear down. And, special thanks to the new and renewing members who continue to support the club.
I wanted to say thanks for having a great match! I know it was lots of work to do it and most gave a hand to make it go the way it did.
A special thanks to Bill , Wayne and Geriold for the way they are always there for us. Sorry about my spelling guys.
