South Mississippi Practical Shooting

Registration is open and slots are available for this month’s USPSA match, presented by the Deep South Shooters Association. The match will take place at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi on January 21, 2024. Shooting begins at 9 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check in and pay, but earlier is always better.

We will not be shooting a classifier this month. We will also have a brief discussion about what is going on in the world of USPSA politics.

Registration is open and slots are available for the April 2023 USPSA match, presented by the Deep South Shooters Association. The match will take place at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi on April 16, 2023. Shooting begins at 9 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check in and pay, but earlier is always better.

This month, we will have something new for you. After the main match is over, we will have a Shootout. What’s a Shootout, you say? Well, think of that old timey plate match you used to shoot indoors under the horrible lights breathing that lead-filled smoke. Now, move it outdoors and use poppers instead of a plate rack. You go head-to-head against another shooter to shoot your poppers quicker than they do. Each shooter has a center or stop popper that determines the winner. Whichever center popper hits the ground first wins! The Shootout will have a bracket based on your finish in the main match. There will be a handicap system so any shooter regardless of class or division has a chance to win. Oh, and what does the winner get? For this first time, the winner gets 100% of the Shootout match entry fees. The entry fee is just $5, but you do need to shoot the main match to participate in the Shootout. • CPRC members shoot for $15
• Non-members shoot for $20
• Juniors shoot first division for FREE
• Juniors shoot second division for $5
• Second division for everyone except Juniors $15

Shootout match fees:

• Everyone shoots for $5

The USPSA match scheduled for March 19, 2023, has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with the match staff. We will be back in April with another great match!

The match will take place at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi on February 19, 2023. Shooting begins at 9 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check in and pay, but earlier is always better.

This month, we will have a classifier match. There will be 5 to 6 classifier stages instead of regular field courses. This will allow anyone to get classified in a new division, or to possibly move up in your current division. Anyone will be allowed to shoot a second gun. If you want to shoot a second division, please register on Practiscore in a second division.

• Juniors shoot first division for FREE
• Juniors shoot second division for $5
• Second division for everyone except Juniors $15

DSSA will host a special 22 rifle and PCC match on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club in Biloxi, MS. Two divisions will be recognized including .22LR Rifle and Pistol Caliber Carbine (9mm, 10mm, .40S&W, .45ACP). No center fire cartridges will be allowed. No handguns.

Scoring will be Time Plus with Points. Targets will be lots of steel (hit anywhere to score, like Steel Challenge) and USPSA paper and steel popper targets.

There will be 4-5 stages of no more than 30 rounds each. USPSA safety rules apply. All guns MUST have a chamber flag and be in a bag or on a cart. For more information, click the button below to register and read the details.

The month of October brings an unusual cancellation of both the USPSA and Steel Challenge matches at the CRPC range in Biloxi. Due to vacations and USPSA Nationals overlap, the regular match staff personnel will not be in town for the 2nd Saturday Steel Challenge or the 3rd Sunday USPSA matches.
